Natalie Biegler collects fourth place title, $8500 in scholarship awards

Natalie Biegler of Timber Lake was fourth runner-up in the Miss South Dakota Pageant in Brookings on May 31, for which she received a $2000 scholarship.

Teacher housing

A fourth Governor’s House purchased by the Timber Lake School District was delivered last week by the S.D. Housing Authority, joining three others on Block 46. The homes are used as rental housing to recruit and retain teachers.

Musical Meredith

On June 1, Meredith Maciejewski, a recent graduate of Timber Lake High School, presented her senior piano recital at the Timber Lake School Theater. Her program included classical pieces by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin as well as contemporary tunes.

Despite timely rains, drought conditions continue across region

Drought conditions continue to show improvement across the state and region and show the only three areas still in severe drought are in southwestern and eastern Custer County; western and southeastern Fall River County and southeast Pennington County.
