The annual Dewey County 4-H Easter Egg Hunt drew a lively crowd on Saturday morning at the courthouse lawn. All the kids gathered plastic eggs filled with treats, and six lucky ones had their names drawn for the door prizes.

At first glance, one might consider Ben Mareska a typical 10-yearold boy. But look again.The son of Brent and Melanie Mareska and a fourth grader at Timber Lake Elementary School, Ben enjoys school, videos and playing games like most kids his age do. But he’s also an accomplished chess player.
Ben Mareska, 10, took up the game of chess about a year-and-a-half ago after learning how to play the game watching YouTube videos.
