On Friday, there was a fish fry in the Holy Rosary Church basement in Trail City.Last Tuesday, Chuck and Marsha Aberle attended the Allstate music festival in Bismarck at the Civic Center. They were there to watch their grandson, Briston Friez, play in the band.

Pierce and Brie Keller are the proud parents of a baby girl born March 18, 2025 at Monument Health in Rapid City. Alina “Kit” Catherine Keller was welcomed home by a very excited big brother, Oliver Keller. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and measured 18 inches long.

On Fr i d a y, Ap r i l 4 t h e 7th Generation Movie Theatre hosted a different kind of entertainment. While pop and popcorn were still enjoyed, instead of the latest cinematic thrill, there were local poets sharing their raw feelings during a SD Poetry on the Road event.

Ty Traversie and Tom Hermes won three-year terms on the Timber Lake City Board in Tuesday’s election.Traversie received 65 votes, Hermes 55, and Mike LaCompte 17.Hermes and LaCompte are incumbents.See next week’s Topic for the results of the Dupree School Board election.

Communities to test warning sirens for severe weather week

April is National Severe Summer Weather Week and with summer just around the corner, fire departments and emergency service agencies are testing tornado warning systems.In Timber Lake, the tornado drill siren will be tested at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 11.

CRST Council bans unauthorized recording devices in meetings

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Council last week passed a measure prohibiting all unauthorized recordings or broadcasts of Tribal Council meetings. Violation of the rule will result in Class B misdemeanor punishable by a $500 fine for each offense.
