The Timber Lake School Board reviewed the results of a school-wide survey on switching to a proposed 4-day school week last Wednesday, Dec. 11, which shows respondents are nearly evenly split on the issue.

State reviewing Isabel request to lower speed limit

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) has begun the process of reviewing Isabel’s request that the speed limit on the portion of Highway 20 that runs through the community be reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph.

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds’ staff will be visiting local communities

Staff from the office of U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) will be conducting outreach in the communities of Dupree and Timber Lake to assist residents with any issues they may have with federal agencies.“South Dakota is filled with many strong communities,” said Rounds.

On 11/25/2024 at 11:50 pm, responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a business in McLaughlin.On 11/26/2024 at 3:16 pm, responded to Main Street McLaughlin to assisted the Standing Rock Ambulance with a combative male. The male was ultimately turned over to BIA Police and arrested.
