Jury acquits man charged in death of tribal member

A jury last week acquitted a man charged with the murder and assault following a deadly stabbing at a Fort Collins, CO gas station in July of last year.Saman Zare was arrested in connection with the July 21, 2023 killing of Duane Brown, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

Two local veterans, Paul Stradinger and John Dean Boldt, both of Isabel, were participants in the Midwest Honor Flight program this fall. In honor and recognition of their service, they along with a companion were flown to Washington D.C. in honor of their service and to tour the national monuments.

Timber Lake Elementary earns another national recognition for excellence

The Timber Lake Elementary School has been recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School based on the outstanding academic achievement of its students. Timber Lake and the Ethan Elementary School are the only schools in South Dakota selected for the recognition.
