Jury acquits man charged in death of tribal member

A jury last week acquitted a man charged with the murder and assault following a deadly stabbing at a Fort Collins, CO gas station in July of last year.Saman Zare was arrested in connection with the July 21, 2023 killing of Duane Brown, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

County taps TL for law enforcement rate increase

Dewey County Sheriff Ash Arpan and Dewey County Commissioner Rod Enright of Timber Lake opened dis cussion on the city-county law enforcement agreement at the Timber Lake City Board meeting last Thursday, Nov. 7.

‘The trip of a lifetime’

Two local veterans, Paul Stradinger and John Dean Boldt, both of Isabel, were participants in the Midwest Honor Flight program this fall. In honor and recognition of their service, they along with a companion were flown to Washington D.C. in honor of their service and to tour the national monuments.
The Dupree School held an active shooter drill last week which involved evacuating staff and students from the building while law enforcement searched for and apprehended a lone gunman.
