Local author receives another book award

Johny Weber of Timber Lake (RIGHT) led two discussion sessions on her books at the Dewey County Library on May 29. She has published three historical romances and was recently notified that she had won a 2024 International Impact Book Award from Go All in Media for her Mountain Series.

Free Park Passes at DC Library

The Dewey County Library, in partnership with the S.D. Dept. of Education and S.D. Dept. of Game, Fish and Parks, offers customers a 3-day state park vehicle pass they can check out at the library.

The Hot Spot in Dupree

Dupree has welcomed back a business called The Hot Spot as it’s the perfect spot to go when it’s hot (and also when it’s cool). The business serves a variety of ice cream shakes and sundaes as well as tasty sandwiches and sides.

Northern State University Spring 2024 President, Dean’s Lists

Two local full-time students at Northern State University in Aberdeen are on the President’s List for the Spring 2024 semester. Erin Lemke of Dupree and Jastyn Rousseau of Eagle Butte earned a perfect 4.00 GPA to place them on the President’s List.Kenna Webb of Timber Lake achieved a GPA of 3.50–3.
