DICK’s Sporting Goods goes to the mat for TLHS

Have you ever heard the old saying, “Sometimes it’s not what you know but who you know?”Well, that was the case for Timber Lake High School alum Randi Aberle, and the result is a $25,000 contribution to the school’s athletic department through the DICK’s Sporting Goods Foundation.

Escape from custody sends Eagle Butte man back to prison

A 44-year-old Eagle Butte man was sentenced last week to serve a year in federal penitentiary after being convicted of escaping custody.Lawrence Oakie was sentenced to one year in federal prison and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

SD Department of Veteran Affairs to host coffee event

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (SDDVA), in partnership with the Corson County Veterans Service Officer, will host a coffee and comaraderie event for veterans and their family members to gather for Coffee & Camaraderie in McIntosh.

Sheriff’s Report

Corson County Sheriff Alan DaleMarch 2311:06 a.m. conducted a traffic stop on Highway 12, four miles east of McLaughlin. Upon approach the deputy smelled the odor of raw marijuana. A probable cause search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
