Timber Lake High School students won the top two awards at the High Plains Regional Science Fair in Rapid City on Tuesday, March 19.

Thirteen Timber Lake High School students won awards at the annual High Plains Regional Science Fair last week. Projects were presented by Zoom. Peggy Ward nominee for ND Cowboy Hall of Fame

Peggy Ward, born and raised on a cattle and horse ranch north of Timber Lake on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, is nominated for induction into the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. If selected, Ward will be enshrined under the Modern Era Rodeo category during a ceremony in June.

Timber Lake High School senior Kenlea Heck of Isabel recently signed a letter of intent to attend Black Hills State University where she will compete as a member of the Yellow Jacket rodeo team. With her for the signing were her parents, Brandon and Misti Heck.
