Schrempp claims runner-up honors for C-EB-D

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte-Dupree junior Tripp Schrempp went 2-1 overall and captured second place honors in the 144 pound division at the Stanley County Wrestling Invitational held Saturday, Dec. 2, in Ft. Pierre. The tournament marks the start of the 2023-24 season for most area teams.

LOOKING BACK

The Timber Lake Methodist church will be observing its golden anniversary this Sunday, Dec. 8. Dr. J. Harley Thompson of Aberdeen, one of the church’s sons, will be the guest speaker for the morning service at 11 o’clock. A potluck dinner will be enjoyed at noon.

On Sunday, Jared and Mason Hollenbeck and Kyrie Lemburg attended the Community Christmas Sing at Holy Cross Church in Timber Lake. Mason sang with the Holy Cross K4J Choir.

World Soil Day observed at Dupree Elementary

In celebration of World Soil Day, the Dupree High School FFA, advised by Doug Hofer, held a special soil-related fair for elementary students.

1st place winner

Kolby Holzer, a freshman at Timber Lake High School, has won the award for Best Essay in the Northwestern Division of the American Legion Auxiliary Essay Contest. He earlier won first place in the local and district judging.
