Horizon Health receives Silver ACE Award

Horizon Health Care has been awarded Silver status in the Advocacy Center of Excellence (ACE) program from the National Association of Community Health Centers. Horizon is the only community health center in South Dakota to achieve this designation.

News organization has new name, same mission

The association representing the state’s newspapers and other news media outlets has changed its name to the South Dakota NewsMedia Association (SDNA), effective Oct. 11. For the past 35 years, the association was known as the South Dakota Newspaper Association.

Peterson named DAR Good Citizen

Dan Peterson was selected to represent Timber Lake High School as this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen. The DAR Good Citizen is one who demonstrates the characteristics of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

Students of the Month

The Dupree School JH/HS would like to announce their first Students of the Month for the 2023-2024 school year. The 7th-12th grade staff nominate students that they feel strongly represent characteristics of good role models (leadership, citizenship, positive behaviors, and good academic work).

DHS seniors job shadow

While many people tell students to “get an education so that you can get a better job,” there is a lot more to the plan than that. After the high school education is complete, many career paths are quite specific as to the training needed to get those jobs, and training is expensive.
