TheTimber Lake & Area Historical Society will host a book signing and a volunteer workshop at the Museum on Friday, April 19. Local author Johny Weber will sign copies of her new book, Mountain Ranch, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Plans for building an additional room onto the courthouse to keep records safe was a topic of discussion at the April 11 meeting of the Dewey County Commission. Register of Deeds Deborah Goldade presented information on costs and financing options to be considered if the county decides that borrowing is necessary.
