Dewey County Director of Equalization Brandy Meier reported there were no assessment appeals filed this year when she met with the Dewey County Consolidated Equalization Board on May 4. Property owners recently received their assessment notices which will be used for taxes to be levied for 2024.

School board fills teaching vacancies; okays salary hikes for administrators

The Timber Lake School Board last week approved the hiring of three more teachers, filling all the current certified staff vacancies created by resignations or retirements this spring, while also awarding the district’s administrative staff salary increases for the 2023-24 school year.

Emergency Medical Technicians remove the body of 25-year-old Eden One Feather of Little Eagle from House 449 on D Street in Timber Lake last Friday, April 14. Authorities discovered One Feather’s body after being dispatched to the residence for an unresponsive female. The FBI has taken over the case and No charges or names of two individuals taken into custody at the residence have been released by law enforcement or the U.S. Attorney’s Office. City Board gets update on water, sewer projects

The Timber Lake City Board got an update on the water and sewer projects from engineer Trent Baumeister of IMEG at the board’s April 10 meeting.
He said some final survey work must be completed this spring in preparation for the water project plans and specs to be submitted to the Dept.
