Over 300 attend Family Fun Night

Attendance at Timber lake Elementary Family Fun Night was 308 — 144 students (83% of PreK5 enrollment) and 164 guests, who enjoyed games, contests and activities, a meal, and a book fair.

What to expect for the 2023 crop year

So much snow! Is this a good thing for farmers and ranchers because we need the moisture? The moisture is good for everyone, but it is a problem for producers trying to calve during March. The wind and cold are the major issues that are hard on young livestock.

How did you get started in farming/ranching and how long have you been at it? Have you had other occupations? I grew up on the ranch that I now operate. My dad (Pete Long) got me involved with a small herd of sheep and cattle. I have been at it since then.

How did you get started in farming/ranching and how long have you been at it? Have you had other occupations? I started in 1973 in a partnership with my brother, Tim Leibel, on the place that my Dad, Jack Leibel, started. In 1987 the partnership dissolved, and we each farmed/ranched separately.

Time doesn’t seem to mean much to a cow

How did you get started in farming/ranching and how long have you been at it? Have you had other occupations? My father was a German from Russia and my mother’s family was from Holland so I guess I was just born into it.
