The weather over the week in Trail City has finally been sunny allowing some of our snow to melt. Wally, Jackie, Wayde, Lauren, and Blaine Grage were over for the weekend at Bill and Lynn Hahne's house.

Calendars

February is more than just basketball, although there are a lot of games on the monthly calendars for Timber Lake-Isabel and Dupree. The calendars are on pages 6 and 12 in this issue.

No school

Timber Lake will have no classes for students on Friday, February 3 but teachers will have a day of in-service. Friday, February 17 will be a day off (comp day) for students and teachers. Teachers will have parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday, February 15 and 16 from 4-7 p.m.

Board vacancies

The Timber Lake City Board has one vacancy to be filled this year; the seat is presently held by Jess Schlosser. The Isabel Town Board has two vacancies for seats held by Ryan Maher and Dan Gifford. All terms are three years. The deadline for filing petitions is February 24.

New bucking chutes for Days of 1910 Rodeo

At a special meeting on January 18, the Timber Lake Rodeo Association decided to replace the bucking chutes at the rodeo grounds before the Days of 1910 Rodeo in July. The expenditure for seven new Priefert chutes and gates will be financed by advertisers and TLRA reserve funds.

Dustan Biegler killed in small plane crash

Two Nebraskans were killed after the small plane they were in crashed last Wednesday, Jan. 11, according to the Nemah County Sheriff's Department. Killed in the crash were the pilot, Colton Hill, 24, of Kearney, NE, and Dustan Biegler, 41, of Valparaiso, NE.
