The Swift family joined in the Isabel Memorial Poker Run on Saturday, which was in honor of the late Larry Dean Swift and three others. L-R are Tristan, Keri and Nathan Swift, and (BACK) Hermione Boysen. Nathan rode his motorcycle and the others drove Dean’s pickup on the route.

In addition to delivering petitions to move the Dewey County seat to Eagle Butte, Carl Petersen brought another issue to the July 7 Dewey County Commission meeting.

Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale June 27 12:46 a.m., assisted BIA Police with a stabbing at a residence in Little Eagle. BIA took a female suspect into custody. 10:04 a.m., investigated a two vehicle accident on Main Street in McLaughlin.

The Farm Bureau Cares team came to Timber Lake on Thursday, July 7 to serve a free noon lunch for the community following the July 5 hail and wind storm.

Glad Valley child injured in Monday morning accident

Sheriff’s offices from Dewey, Ziebach and Perkins counties as well as the Faith Police Department, Bison Ambulance and Black Hills Lifelight responded to a lawn mower accident involving a child in the Glad Valley area Monday morning, July 11.

Owen’s poem wins first place in state American Legion Auxililary Contest

Owen Schweitzer received notice that he won 1st place in his division at the state level for the American Legion Auxiliary Poem Contest. He was awarded a certificate and $15. Owen is the son of Joel and Sarah Schweitzer. He will be a sixth grader at Timber Lake Middle School this fall.
