Corson County Sheriff Alan DaleFebruary 241:45 p.m. responded to the Wakpala School for a report of a male identifying himself as an ICE agent. The male left prior to arrival. It was determined that the male was not an ICE agent. Investigation is ongoing.10:50 p.m.

Horses that heal: Equine therapy rising in popularity

Bridget Williams gathered a group of children together in her barn to show them how to safely give a horse a treat.Williams told them not to hold the treat near the horse’s mouth because it can’t see the snack and could mistakenly bite a finger.

State approves 68,300 acre wind turbine farm

The Public Utilities Commission has granted a permit to Philip Wind Partners LLC to build a wind turbine farm in Haakon County which will be the largest in the state.The company behind the project said it will span 68,300 acres — that’s over 100 square miles — and generate 333 megawatts of energy.

Timber Lake HS junior Anna Kraft won the Lesson Plan Delivery division at the State Educators Rising Conference held recently in Spearfish. She earned a trip to the National Educators Rising Conference in Portland, OR, in June. She is the daughter of Ross and Heather Kraft.

NDSU announces fall 2025 dean’s list

Local students recognized for their academic performance in the fall 2025 semester at North Dakota State University have been named to the dean’s list. They include: Code Bry Ann Enright of Timber Lake, Veterinary Technology, and Meredith Maciejewski of Timber Lake, Management Communication.
