Cuts to federal DOE budget could impact local schools

With the federal budget deadline looming, one of President Donald Trump’s proposals for the Department of Education could mean significant changes for area schools.“This is the federal budget,” noted Danielle Farrie, research director of Education Law Center.

McLaughlin man sentenced to 15 years in prison

U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann last week sentenced a 22-year-old McLaughlin man to more than a decade in federal prison after he was convicted of abusive sexual contact. The sentencing took place on Sept. 8.
