  • CeCe Cowan of Eagle Butte won last Saturday’s round of barrel racing at the National Jr. High Finals Rodeo bur a tipped barrel in the short-go dropped her to 17th overall at the end. She was eighth in the race for All-Around Rookie Cowgirl.

    McLaughlin 14-year-old Pete Maher capped his third and final trip to the National Jr. High Finals Rodeo in Des Moines, IA, last week with a fifth place overall finish in goat tying. The in-coming freshman - already a formidable rodeo veteran - will move to the high school ranks next season.
