Graveside committal and burial of the cremated remains will take place in Mountain View Cemetery at a later date. Mickey was born April 21, 1936 in Mobridge to Dale and Jessie (Sheffer) Scott. She spent her early life in Timber Lake with her parents and three brothers. After doing very well in high school, Mickey attended a lab and xray technology school in Minneapolis, MN from September, 1954 to January, 1956. Immediately following her graduation, Mickey started working at Park Clinic in Livingston. She worked at the clinic for 45 years before retiring in 2000. Mickey met Harold Shorthill, Jr. in Livingston and they were married on December 22, 1968. During more than 45 years of time together they were constant companions and partners. In Montana, Mickey discovered golf, which became her lifelong passion. Over many years she played competitively and won several championships. She also played bridge and many other card games with family and friends. For 27 years Mickey served as treasurer at Pine Creek United Methodist Church where she and Harold were both devoted members. She was an excellent cook who continually tried new recipes while staying masterful at the classics. Her family and friends looked forward to her Christmas treats every year. Already a knitter, Mickey expanded her skills to machine knitting. Like everything Mickey did,
she became proficient and created all kinds of treasures for her family and friends. Throughout her life, Mickey read avidly and also spent countless hours at her computer researching her family genealogy.
