Al was born in Dewey County on August 20, 1940 to Antone and Margaret (Schell) Reiss. He was a 1959 graduate of Timber Lake High School.

Many weekends he could be found in his garage working on cars, rebuilding engines or tinkering with his beloved ‘66 Impala. You could often find Al sitting around a bonfire telling his kids and grandchildren his many stories or simply listening to Johnny Cash songs.
