Ronald “Ronnie” Noisy Hawk

June 22, 1961 – February 20, 2021

Ronald Noisy Hawk, 59, of Eagle Butte entered the spirit world, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the CRST Bingo Hall in Eagle Butte. Burial followed in the Eagle Butte Cemetery.

Ronald was born on June 22, 1961, in Fort Yates, ND on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. He was born the son of Ambrose Antelope and Seraphine Agard and later adopted and raised as the son of Gilford and Minnie (Corn) Noisy Hawk.

Ronald resided as a youngster in Allen, SD on the Oglala Sioux Tribe Reservation with his parents and brother, Scott. His father Gilford served in the Episcopal Church. Later they resided in Eagle Butte.

Ronald attended Elementary, Junior High and High School at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. He was known as Ronnie to everyone who knew him.

Ronnie enjoyed being with his family and hanging out with his friends. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing in fast pitch league and attending tournaments. He joined boxing and became quite the boxer and attended tournaments. He served in the Army for two years, and when he was honorably discharged, he returned to Eagle Butte.

He met Maxine Flying By and they were married on May 7, 1984. To this union five sons were born: Myron (‘84) Ronald Jr. (‘85) Marvin (‘87) John (‘92) and one who died in infancy.

Ronnie joined the CRST BIA fire fighting crew and was dispatched to various fires throughout the region.

Ronnie loved and cared for his family and had an appreciation for living a simple life. He cared for his mother, Minnie, until her passing and his father, Gilford, until his passing.

Ronnie is survived by his sons, Myron, Ronald Jr., Marvin, and John, all of Eagle Butte; brothers Scott Noisy Hawk of McLaughlin, Lyle, David and Joseph; sisters Valerie, Marlene, Darlene, Mary, Karen and Kathy; granddaughter Jac’Lynn L. Hill; niece Shania Grace Jamerson; and nephews Aaron and Brendan Noisy Hawk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and Gilford Noisy Hawk; natural father, Ambrose Antelope; natural mother, Seraphine Agard; infant son, Joseph Noisy Hawk; nephew, Chico Noisy Hawk; brothers Aaron and Victor; sister Cheryl; and nephews Juan, Kyle and Tristan.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
