Claude Ziegler

Funeral services for Claude Ziegler, 84, of Mobridge will be at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Mobridge.

Claude passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Walworth County Care Center in Selby.

Claude L. Ziegler was born on November 7, 1936, in Trail City to Joseph James and Columbia (Keller) Ziegler. He attended Timber Lake School and graduated in 1954. Claude attended college to receive a certificate for teaching and taught at a country school in rural Strasburg, ND before beginning his career in the insurance business. Settling in Mobridge, Claude co-officed with Key Insurance for many years.

Claude married Irene Deibert on December 31, 1967, at Peace Lutheran Church in Herreid. Irene and Claude enjoyed spending their winters in Harlingen, TX. They were very active members of the Mobridge Moose Lodge #1685. Claude joined the Mobridge Moose Lodge in 1970 and was a life member, Moose Legionnaire and officer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. Claude enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Claude moved to the Walworth County Care Center in Selby in January of 2021.

Claude is survived by many nephews and nieces, grand-nephews and nieces, and sisters-in-law, Delores Deibert of Aberdeen and DeLoris Deibert of Herreid.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene; parents, Joseph and Columbia Ziegler; Irene’s parents, Karl and Pauline Deibert; brothers, Pete (Phyllis) Ziegler, Joseph “Joe” Ziegler, and Roy (Janet) Ziegler; sister Vicki (Eugene) Singer; brothers-in-law Alfred (Darlain) Deibert, Elmer (Gerri) Deibert, Rueben Deibert, and Clarence Deibert; and sister-in-law, Virginia (Deibert) Fischer and husband Wally.
