A memorial service for Melissa Stover, 53, of Timber Lake was held Friday, July 9, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake.
Melissa passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge was in charge of arrangements.
Melissa Ann Berndt was born in Mobridge on May 24, 1968 to Duwane and Betty (Klein) Berndt. She grew up and attended school in Herreid, graduating in 1986. She married John Stover in 1995 and had two sons, Austin and Justin. Along with raising her two boys she always enjoyed kids, working in daycare and at schools. She was currently employed at Timber Lake School.
Missy enjoyed outdoor activities with her boys, spending any time she could camping, fishing, and hiking in the Black Hills.
Missy was preceded in death by her grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her sons, Justin and Austin Stover, both of Timber Lake; her parents, Betty and Duwane Berndt of Herreid; her brother Randy Berndt of Custer; and many friends, coworkers, and a large extended family.
