July 26, 1929 – May 15, 2021
Dee was born in Aberdeen to Lloyd and Helen Yuker July 26, 1929. She and her husband Tom were married 57 years and shared many adventures together traveling on their Gold Wing to Canada and Tennessee. Dee loved to travel and ventured across the United States, including South Dakota, San Francisco to see family, and her dream trip to Hawaii.
Dee had different jobs but probably her two favorites were selling Avon, which she did for 40 plus years (She was Number 1 in her region for many years) and managing apartments — a 90 unit complex and later a 10 unit complex, both in Beaverton, OR, where they lived from 1966 until moving to Vancouver in 1991.
Dee loved camping as long as it was in their trailer. They camped at the Trask River to go dirt bike riding. She was an avid bowler, as well as league secretary/treasurer for many years. She never missed a chance to keep score when the pros came to town. Dee bowled until she was 80 years old, when she had a freak bowling accident and lost her leg.
Dee was preceded in death by her father and mother; daughter Debi; and brother, Aloysius “Brother” Yuker.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her sister, Louise; her son, Craig; stepson, John (Kim); her three daughters: Karen (Jack), Jobie and Tami; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
A celebration of her life will be held at her home at 3911 NE 105th Street, Vancouver, WA, on Sunday, July 25, from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. Memories can be shared at www.columbian.com/obits.
Darlene (Dee) Yuker Manz, 91, passed away at her home in Vancouver, WA on May 15, 2021.
