James Matthews died on May 26, 2021 with his family by his side after a valiant battle.
James was born on May 11, 1946 to Connie and James Matthews and spent his early years in Isabel. He had many fond memories of his time at Isabel and enjoyed visits during annual celebrations.
After attending both Sterling and Colorado Mountain College, Jim had various jobs, ranging from hotel management to farming and ranching and finally retiring from the postal service.
His family paid this tribute to him: He was the most caring and kind brother, uncle, and cousin, devoting his time to family, neighbors and church.
Jim is survived by sisters Sandra Reiter and Karen Matthews; nephews Jim Reiter and John Reiter and many cousins.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Connie and James Matthews.
