Charlie Hornick led most of the season-opening cross country race in Mobridge two weeks ago only to lose first place near the end. Competing in the boys middle school race at the Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day Memorial XC Meet in Faith last Thursday, Sept. 2, the Timber Lake seventh grader was on a mission to make sure that never happens again.
