Funeral services were held September 21, 2021 at the Spencer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lemmon with burial at the Gallaway Cemetery south of Meadow.
Margaret Tidball was born June 13, 1916 in Faith to Watson H. Tidball and Anna (Paulson) Tidball. She was the oldest of eight children and grew up along Black Horse Creek in southwest Corson County, where she tended to the horse herd. She attended local school through the eighth grade, then graduated from Isabel High School in 1934. She attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Pierre for one year.
On July 13, 1936 she married Newton Franklin “N.F.” Red Lyon at Bison. In 1941 Margaret and Red purchased a ranch east of Coal Springs, where they raised their seven children.
Margaret was a founding member of Meadow Community Presbyterian Church. She was a member until 2001 when she transferred to Spencer Memorial Presbyterian in Lemmon. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, joining in 1950.
Wanting a new challenge in life, Margaret and a friend bought Granny’s Café in Faith. That meant she started her day early to drive 43 miles to Faith and have pies baked by opening time.
In 1990 Red, her husband of 54 years, passed away. Margaret remained on the ranch until April, 1992, when she married Russell Reno. At this time she moved to Coeur d ‘Alene, ID. In 2001 Russell passed away and Margaret moved back to the ranch. She later moved to an apartment in Lemmon and in 2008 to Five Counties Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughters Laska Schoenfelder and LuAnne Jordan; son Vivan Lyon; son-in-law Mike Schoenfelder; grandsons Cody Lyon and Kevin Jordan; sisters Patsy Monnens and Betty Everidge; brothers James Tidball, Bill Tidball, Sam Tidball, and Keith Tidball.
