SSgt. Charla H. Morrison-Reynolds

February 8, 1983 – September 14, 2021

Charla Morrison Reynolds, 38, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Her funeral service was held September 22, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Bridger with burial at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Bridger.

Charla was born February 8, 1983 in Philip to Connie Blue Legs and Clifford (“Tuffy”) Morrison Jr.

She attended Crazy Horse School at Wanblee and Little Wound School at Kyle, where she graduated in May of 2001. On June 8, 2001 she joined the Army, and served for 17 years. She went on seven deployments to Iraq and one deployment to Afghanistan. After retirement from the Army, she attended South University working toward a degree in psychology.

Although she lived in Savannah, twice a year she would come back to Bridger to visit her family. She loved her Lakota way of life and was proud to be a Lakota soldier.

She leaves behind her husband, Tim; four children: Akicita Hajile Cook, Ta’Te Omani Win Miranda Johnson, Nathaniel Ohitika Wakuta Reynolds, and Dillon Cetan Napesni Reynolds; her mother, Connie Blue Legs; siblings: Sara Morrison (Cheyenne and Matthew), Elissa Morrison (Louis WWH, Jaxon, Louis V, Jasper and Emilia), Konan Morrison (Hoksila and McKenzie), and Elijah Morrison (Eli, Ella, Tuffy, and Trey); grandmas Zouie Ocean Lone Eagle and Patty Fortune; aunts Sibyl Lone Eagle, Bonnie Belt, Celinda Belt, and Benita Belt; uncles Vernell White Thunder, Bennett Belt, Brent Belt, and Brice Belt; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford “Tuffy” Morrison; maternal grandparents Celeste Bear Eagle-Belt and Emil Blue Legs; paternal grandparents Clifford and Eliza Morrison; uncles Sylvester Blue Legs and Al Lone Eagle; and cousins Carrie Lone Eagle, Wyatt Belt, and BJ Hunts Horse.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
