Debbra A. Martin, 55, passed away from complications with COVID on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.
She was born Oct. 8, 1965 at home on a farm in the Glad Valley/ Isabel area and was known as Deb or Debbie by her family and friends.
She graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1983 and attended National College, earning her Associates Degree in Accounting.
Debbie raised her family in Rapid City and relocated to Millbury, OH in January of 2008.
Deb loved family and lived life with laughter and passion. She was strong of mind and will and had a heart big enough for all. She had a unique sense of humor, a fighting spirit and a talent for bad jokes. She embraced life even as she battled and beat breast cancer.
Deb is survived by daughters Vanessa (Michael) McBride of Newport, NC and Melissa Knutson of Rapid City; sons Kyle Martin (Ashley Schneider) of Custer and Christopher Martin (Carissa Willms) of Rapid City; grandchildren Blake, Dylan, Jaden and Rebecca McBride; Taylor, Landon, Renee and McKenna Knutson; Louis, Emma and Sharisse Schneider and Kiah and Alana Martin; Zenn Willms; sisters Leona and Janice Martin of Rapid City, and Melody (Sam) Brewer of Piedmont; brothers Terry, Mark and Richard of Gillette, WY; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews and her four-legged family, Jasmine the Pitbull and Wilbur the Potbellied Pig.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernhart “Speed” and Mary (Damske) Martin; sisters Alice and Donna; and brothers Barry, Thomas and Kenneth.
A celebration of Debbra’s life was held Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 in Rapid City.
