Drive-up COVID testing offered in new locations

CRST Field Health is now offering drive-up COVID-19 testing at new locations across Dewey and Ziebach counties. In addition, tribal members can also arrange to be tested in their home

The new locations include the Cherry Creek Clinic, White Horse Clinic, LaPlant LTM C-Store, Takini LTM C-Store, Bingo Hall in Eagle Butte, South Main Street in Timber Lake, Red Building in Dupree and the Veteran Affairs Office, where testing is available 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week.

Nine new cases on Monday

CRST Chairman Harold Frazier reported in his daily COVID-19 radio update that 170 tests were administered by Field Health on Monday and nine new cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of active cases to 69.

Frazier said on Tuesday the tribe has issued 1,029 vaccine booster shots and 243 pediatric vaccinations. Based on an estimated population of 12,000, just 37.93 percent of residents in Dewey and Ziebach counties are fully vaccinated.
