Funeral services for Corey Cadotte, 51, of Wakpala were held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Wakpala School Gym. Burial was at the Cadotte Ranch under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Corey passed away January 11, 2022, at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Corey James Cadotte was born June 5, 1970 to Judy Cadotte. He graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1989 and played football for the Timber Lake Panthers. He gained many friends during his time living in Timber Lake with his grandfather, Cy Cadotte. He also spent time with his grandfather, Roger Cadotte, during this time.
Corey joined the US Navy and was stationed in Sacramento, CA. He served four years and returned to Wakpala to be with family.
He moved to Bismarck, where he met his daughter’s mother. His daughter, Corie Cadotte, was his world. After a time Corey returned to Wakpala to live the remainder of his life with his mother and daughter.
He worked for Prairie Knights Casino and Grand River Casino for many years. He spent time fishing, working on the family ranch, driving, playing horseshoes and caring for his mother.
Corey is survived by his mother, Judy Cadotte; daughter Corie Cadotte; brother Mike Cadotte; sister Laura Grijalva; nephews Sabeion and Jaydon Garter and Jade Glaser; nieces Payton Garter, Sadie Eagle and Madison Cadotte; granddaughters Jaydace Yellow Earrings and Autumn; uncles Jeff Cadotte and family and Tyrone and Jolene Cadotte and family; aunts Mary Beth Cadotte, Candy Cadotte and family, Franky Cadotte Gray and boys, Brian Silk and family, Evangaline Fast Horse and family, and Edmund Fast Horse.
