Jeff Ward of Timber Lake has been hired as a Dewey County Deputy Sheriff, filling the vacancy created when Ashley Arpan was promoted from deputy to Dewey County Sheriff last month.
Both Ward and Arpan are candidates for sheriff in the November 8 general election. Ward recently won the Democratic nomination in the June 7 primary election, and Arpan is running as an Independent.
