Funeral services for Miles Avery Phillips, 23, of Eagle Butte were held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the CRST Bingo Hall. He passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Eagle Butte IHS Hospital. Oster Funeral Home of Eagle Butte was in charge of arrangements.
Miles Avery Phillips “Thoka Ahpa” was born June 6, 1999 in Eagle Butte to Wendell Phillips Jr. and Jolee Two Dogs Clark.
He went to any event and activity that involved basketball. In 9th grade he started running. He signed up for cross country and track every year. He liked listening to music and watching basketball games. Into his teenage years, Miles began working the Summer Youth Program. He held many jobs in his life that he was proud of including Co-op, Number 9, Security, Hardees, Little Caesars, and most recently, the City of Eagle Butte.
Miles is survived by his mother, Jolee Two Dogs Clark; fathers Wendell Phillips and Jay Clark; sisters Angel Phillips and Ahmyli Clark; brothers Judson His Law, True Clark, and Keenan Clark; nieces Mila Clark, Syn’cere His Law and Tika Crow; nephews Jiles His Law, Rufus Crow and Mason Bourland; uncis, Rose Strikes The Enemy and Benita Clark.
Miles is preceded in death by his uncles, Raphael Two Dogs, Doyle Clown, and PFC Sheldon Hawk Eagle; uncis Bernadine Hawk Eagle, Violet Lone Eagle, Dorothy Strikes Enemy, and Stella Buffalo; and lalas, Joseph Two Dogs Jr. and Bernard Strikes Enemy Sr.
