Sharon Diane (Rudolph) Dady was born on March 16, 1934 to Leeda and Ellsworth Rudolph. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family January 18, 2023.
Sharon grew up on a farm outside of Claire City, SD where she attended a one room school. She graduated from Sisseton High School in 1951.
It was during high school that she met Jack Dady. They were married on September 10, 1955 in Sisseton. Their first son, Mark, was born in Minneapolis. They soon left the big city for Sisseton, and daughter Therese was born. They then moved to Aberdeen for a brief time and their third child, Paul, was born.
In June of 1960 Jack and Sharon had an opportunity to purchase a pharmacy in Mobridge, which fast became their forever home and they added two more children, Steve and Cheryl. Sharon baked daily for Dady Drug’s fountain area. Carrot cake was her specialty. Eventually, she took over the bookkeeping and was meticulous in her books to the penny. She enjoyed the interaction with the customers and continued to work as long as she physically could, well into her late 70’s.
Sharon and Jack built a life strong in faith, family and many lifelong friendships. She was active in Altar Society, Hospital Auxiliary, Jaycettes, ladies golf league, and SD Pharmaceutical Auxiliary. She was a Cub Scout leader, religious education teacher and was honored as Young Woman of the Year by the Jaycettes in 1964.
Sharon is survived by her children: Mark (Diane) Dady of Mobridge, Therese (Deino) Sather of Elkhorn NE, Steven Dady of Mobridge, and Cheryl Bertsch of Blaine, MN; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Paul Dady.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the Mobridge Regional Hospital Foundation.
