On April 1, 1975 Jayme was born to Wilmer Fredrick Dupris and Gloria Jean LaPlante. He grew up in Eagle Butte and spent a lot of time in his home community of Iron Lightning. Summers and spare time were with the “boys” – Dusty, BD, Dan, Will and Jay, helping Uncle Doug brand calves and colts. Jayme was the rider for the Dupris Ranch Indian Relay race team along with “BD” and Baby Case. He jockeyed for Melvin Ducheneaux and rode in the Wakinyan Maza Memorial suicide race.

In 1986 at the age of 11, Jayme was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Butte.

In 1995, Jayme graduated from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School, where he participated in cross country, track, wrestling, basketball, football and rodeo.

In 1999 Jayme met the love of his life, Merrilee Marrowbone. In July of 2012 Jayme became a single parent and for the past ten years he has raised his four daughters.

Jayme enjoyed softball and loved to play poker. He was certified through the Cooper Fitness Institute as a fitness trainer. He was employed with the CRST Diabetes Program, CRST Fitness Center, CRST CHR Program, CRST Transit Program, and firefighting with BIA Wildland Fire Management. He and his cousin BD also went to work beekeeping for Tom Maxwell outside of Faith. During COVID he took a job with his cousin, Cathy Gray.

The training background and jobs he loved most were firefighting and patient care. He was a first responder, certified in CPR and first aid. He was proud of transporting a crew to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to aid in the cleanup effort. He was working for the CRST Diabetes Program when his health began to decline, and he was unable to return to work.
