Delores Long

June 29, 1930 – March 24, 2023

Delores Long, 92, of McIntosh passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.

Her funeral service was held Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Lemmon with Pastor Spencer Allen officiating and burial in Greenhill Cemetery. Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Delores June Peterson was born on June 29, 1930, to Robert and Winnie Peterson at her grandparents’ home north of Thunder Hawk. She grew up on the family farm north of Lemmon. Delores attended grade school in the country and graduated from Lemmon High School.

On November 7, 1948, she married Arthur Long at the Presbyterian Church in Lemmon. Two children blessed their home, Jonabeth in 1949 and Steve in 1958.

Delores and Art lived for a time in Lead before moving to the Long Ranch near Meadow. In the spring of 1957 the family moved to a ranch north and west of McIntosh, where they raised their children.

Delores was a woman of deep faith and very devoted to her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jonabeth and Bob Mollman, Watauga; eight great-grandchildren: Page Mollman, McIntosh, Bo (Sonya) Mollman, Yankton, Blaine (Cassie) Mollman, McIntosh, Preston (Mandy) Mollman, Watauga, Molly (Bryan) Campbell, Sioux Falls, Rachel Waddell, Rapid City, Tyler (Toni) Long, Belle Fourche, and Jessica (Derek) Oster, Overland Park, KS; 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Karen) Peterson, Rolland (Jane) Peterson, and Kenneth (Pauline) Peterson, Sandra Peterson, and Eileen Peterson.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sharon; brothers- and sisters-in-law Charles and Rosemary Peterson, Ruth Peterson, and David Peterson; and one greatgranddaughter, Madelynn Mollman.
