Lemmon-McIntosh gridders give up halftime advantage in 30-18 defeat

Sawyer Thompson and Blair Ham hooked up for two second quarter touchdowns to give Lemmon-McIntosh an 18-16 lead over Herreid-Selby at halftime of their meeting last Friday, Sept. 1, but the Wolverines shut out the Cowboys in the second half to pick up a 30-18 victory.

The loss dropped Lemmon-McIntosh to 1-2 on the season while Herreid-Selby improved to 2-1. The Cowboys take on Harding County/ Bison on Friday, Sept. 8, in Lemmon. The Ranchers come into the contest a perfect 3-0 after blanking Faith 40-0 last week. Thus far this season, Harding County/Bison has outscored its opponents 126-32.

Lemmon-McIntosh was on the scoreboard first against Herreid-Selby after sophomore linebacker Emmitt Maher stepped in front of a Wayde Grage pass on the Wolverines’ first possession and returned it 19 yards to the house. Herreid-Selby went on top 8-6 on its next possession when Houston Hauge plunged in from the four.
