Funeral services for Donna Johnson, 94, of Mobridge were held November 25, 2023 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home.
Donna passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Donna Bell Johnson was born on March 3, 1929, in Perkins County to Don and Barbara (Allerdings) Van Orman. She grew up on a farm near Trail City and graduated from Mobridge High School.
Donna married Gordon Johnson on June 8, 1947 at the United Congregational Church in Mobridge. Gordon and Donna moved to Oregon, where Gordon worked at the post office. In 1993 they moved back to Mobridge, where she has since resided. While in Mobridge they also wintered in Arizona.
Donna was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church where she was active in the women’s group.
Donna is survived by her children: Trudy Johnson of Eugene, OR, Douglas Johnson of Lake Hills, TX, and Linda (Art) Perez of Uvalde, TX; grandchildren Heidi (Frank) Moore, Eric (Melanie) Perez, Raju Rickett, and BJ (Jessica) Perez; great-grandchildren Joshua, Shiloh, and Noah (Sarah) Moore, Holden and Kimber Perez, Holly Flores, Brooklyn and Ryder Perez, and Andrea Rickett; and her faithful furry companion of 16 years, Buffy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, brothers Forrest and Robert, and sister Pearl.
