Memorial services for Anita Van Vugt, 77, of Mobridge were held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Anita passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck. ND. Anita Mae Kienzle was born on May 13, 1945 to John and Emma Kienzle in Isabel. When she was young, the family moved to Mobridge, where she graduated from Mobridge High School in 1963. She met Gerrit Van Vugt and they were married on December 6, 1964, in Mobridge, where they raised their six children. Throughout her life she held many jobs and was known for her hard work ethic and her nononsense attitude. Anita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerrit Van Vugt; daughters Darla (Shane) Pendergraft, Dana (Mike) Bultsma, Darae Van Vugt, and Danette Van Vugt; sons Derrick Van Vugt and Dillon (Varinh) Van Vugt; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and siblings Lila Martel and Tony Kienzle.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her brothers Ervin, Wilbert, Vern, Jerry, and Raymond and sisters Lorraine and Delores.
