Belinda Kay Holzer, 49, of Mobridge passed away Friday, July 29, 2023, in Sioux Falls. Arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge.
Belinda Kay (Voegele) Holzer was born September 15, 1973, to Leon and Delores Voegele, in Mobridge. She grew up on the family ranch in Trail City, with three older brothers. Growing up she was involved in 4-H showing cattle. She loved the ranch life, and enjoyed having lots of animals around, especially kittens. She graduated from Timber Lake High School.
After attending a year of college at Northern State University, she moved to Mobridge, where she began her 20plus years of work at Payless Foods. She eventually advanced to produce manager there. She also enjoyed working for a time at Slater Oil.
Belinda married the love of her life, David Holzer, on June 2, 2001. They had two children, Tucker and Emily. Belinda was happiest when able to be involved with all their various activities.
Belinda had a personality that was bigger than life. She could strike up a conversation with anyone she met and was a friend to many. She was feisty at times and was not afraid to speak her mind. She loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman. She spent many hours on the lake fishing with her family, and recently caught a 9.5 pound walleye that she was very proud of. Crafting and scrapbooking were a favorite hobby, as were planting and growing flowers.
Belinda was a strong woman, who overcame many obstacles. She survived a brain aneurysm and surpassed

many expectations with her recovery. Soon after, she faced the unexpected death of her daughter. Through it all, she kept her spunky outlook on life.
Belinda lost a final fight with another brain bleed on July 29, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. She was generous to others to the end, by being a lifesaving organ donor. Her family is taking comfort in knowing that she has now joined her daughter in heaven.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, David; son Tucker; parents Leon and Delores Voegele; brothers Greg Voegele, Shannon (Sarah) Voegele, Jason (Kim) Voegele; father-in-law Leo Holzer, brothers-in-law Richard (Bernadette) Holzer, Doug (Char) Holzer, Mark (Dena) Holzer; sisterin- law Debbie Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
