Betty Jean Yuly

January 19, 1933 – January 22, 2022

Betty Jean Yuly, 89, of Mobridge passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital. A memorial service for Betty will be held at 7 p.m. CT on February 11, 2022 at the United Congregational Church in Mobridge, where she was a member.

Betty was born at Gopher in Corson County on January 19, 1933 to Walter and Bernice Peterson Chase. She attended grade school in rural Corson County. Betty married Lloyd Ley of rural Isabel. They

Betty married Lloyd Ley of rural Isabel. They had 4 children; Robert “Bert,” Larry “Dode,” Carol and Curtis. Betty and Lloyd later divorced.

Betty got her GED and then went to Black Hills State College. She taught Head Start in Isabel. She also lived in Sturgis and Belle Fourche as well as in Wyoming where she worked at various jobs. She ran the Isabel Café and Lounge from 1973-1976.

Betty is survived by one daughter Carol (Willie)Wilbur of Belle Fourche; one son Larry “Dode” Ley of Isabel; six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Wayne, Jack and Jerry Chase; two sisters, Gladys Knodel and Peggy Warner Waddell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Bert, and Curt; one brother Bob; and two sisters, Janet Linde and Carol Fuhrer.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. MT, Saturday, February 12 at Hillview Cemetery in Isabel, weather permitting.
