Cameron W. Condon, 29, of Eagle Butte, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Cheyenne River Health, Eagle Butte.
Funeral services were held January 29, 2022, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte with burial in the Eagle Butte Cemetery.
Cameron Ward Condon was born on January 8, 1993, in Rapid City to Lisa F. Condon. He attended Head Start through elementary school in Eagle Butte, then moved to Bismarck, ND with his mother, where he attended Wachter Middle School, then Bismarck High School. He completed his GED in February 2011.
Cameron was placed in the Prairie Learning Center, which proved to be a very positive thing in his young life.
He and his mother lived in Sioux Falls for a short time, then moved back to Bismarck and eventually came home to Cheyenne River. In the Bismarck/Mandan area, some of his jobs included working with Gullickson Siding & Gutters, Northwest Contracting as a concrete finisher, K&L Homes doing carpentry work, Central Mechanical Inc., where he was an apprentice plumber, and as a service attendant for Wonnenberg Inc.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Cameron was one of many CRST border patrol employees that worked day in and day out to help keep the reservation safe. He enjoyed his job working with CRST Border Patrol, met a lot of people who were traveling through the area and worked with some great people.
Cameron and Sara Wolf were married on August 21, 2020, in Eagle Butte.
Cameron is survived by his wife Sara and stepchildren Treton, Joshua, Peysyn and Peysley Red Elk; his mother, Lisa Condon; brothers Ryan Lee Marrowbone and Kayla, Dustin Marrowbone, and Joseph Condon, his sister, Ashlee Ward, and Wacy Weeks of Billings, MT; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles Lynette Condon, Laudine Condon, Holly Condon, Monique Tavai-Fiatoa, and Nathan “Big Nate” Benoist and their families; grandmothers Betty Handley, Menoda Flying By, and Clarice Miner; and grandfathers Russell Flying By, Wilbur Flying By, Sr., and Russell Benoist.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Faye and Chester Condon, brother Dayton Scott Marrowbone, grandmothers Cordelia Benoist and Magdeline Long Feather, grandfathers Byron and Myron Flying By and cousin Candelaria Peralta.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
