Mass of Christian Burial for Clara Herman, 82, of Timber Lake will be at 10:30 a.m. September 11, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake. Burial will at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5:00 p.m. September 10 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Clara passed away September 6, 2026, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Clara Ann (Scherr) Herman was born on August 1, 1944, at Mobridge to Jacob and Margaret (Myers) Scherr. She attended Long Butte School, then Holy Cross School until the 8th grade. Clara graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1964.
On December 29, 1965, Clara married Thomas John Herman at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake.
Clara was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary.
Clara is survived by her three sons, Thomas and Robert of Timber Lake and James of Wilmot Care Center in Wilmot; four daughters: Kathy (Kelly) Maag of Watertown, Delores Herman (Chad) of Lakewood, CO, Barbara Herman (Neil) of Bismarck, ND, and Loretta (Bruce) Schmidt of Rapid City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Scherr (Judy) of Rapid City; sisterin- law, Catherine (Dennis)Bresee of Moorhead, MN; and brother-in-law Jay Herman (Audrey) of Green Valley, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents, sisters Joyce and Alice, brothers Joe and Irvin Scherr and great-grandchild.
