Colin Leigh Eagle Horse Beaumont was born November 10, 1975, at Chamberlain to Calvin Eagle Horse, Sr. and Joyce Eagle Feather Eagle Horse. His name was actually Calvis Eagle Feather but when the Department of Social Services took custody of him at age two, somehow his name became Colin. His father and grandfather, Wilson Eagle Horse, Sr. both perished in a motor vehicle accident at LaPlante when DSS took custody of him.

At four-and-a-half he was adopted, with his sister, Demetria, to the family of Danialle (Rose) and Jim Beaumont. He loved playing with tiny trucks and cars in the yard. He attended school in Pierre (where he was a good softball player) then in Berkeley, CA. While there he earned an orange belt in Senninbodo. Then he attended school at Eagle Butte.

At age twelve he entered the Children's Home Society near Rapid City. At 15, he went to live with his adopted father and Irene in Redwood City, CA. They helped him through various juvenile programs until he entered the Caminar Reach program.

Colin had the Eagle Horse spiritual gifts, but they were difficult to follow because he was on the FAS/ FAE spectrum. These spiritual gifts were often interpreted as hallucinations and he was called paranoid schizophrenic. When he visited his family in South Dakota in 2013 he was taken to his mother's grave site in Mitchell. They had a conversation and she apologized for using alcohol when she was pregnant with him. He said she stated she didn't know it would affect his brain the way it did and that if she had known she would not have used alcohol. This was a healing moment for Colin.

He is an enrolled member of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe.

Colin passed unexpectedly in South San Francisco, CA on February 10, after a long illness.

He is survived by his sister, Demetria Bianca Beaumont; his adoptive mother of Hot Springs; his adoptive father and step-mother, Irene of Redwood City, CA; and special nieces and nephews, Tyson, Cheyenne, Dakota, Bianca and Marshall; his birth siblings Adam
