Curtis Pfeifle, 65, of Pierre died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.
Curtis was born April 4, 1956, in Aberdeen to Elmer and Gertrude (Guthmiller) Pfeifle.
Curtis moved to Pierre in 1979 and had various jobs throughout the years. He was a bellman at the Ramkota, he worked for the State of South Dakota as a foreman on a buildings and ground crew, and he was a handyman.
Curtis married Rachel LeBeau on March 24, 2000 in Pierre. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Curtis is survived by his wife Rachel; two daughters and their families: Cathie (Kelly) Llamas, their children Trevor John, Hunter Curtis and Estrella Josefina; and Teresa (Jaramy) Defender and their children Ryder Stephan and Ian Curtis; siblings: Lee Peters, Clyde (Jayne) Pfeifle, Dale (Corrie) Pfeifle, and Jeffery (Cindi) Pfeifle; and great friends: Richard Reum and Larry Melvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
