Dale Blue Coat, 53, of Denver, CO and formerly of Eagle Butte, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, in Denver.
Funeral services were held May 11, 2022, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial followed in St. Thomas Cemetery at On The Tree.
Dale Lewis Blue Coat was born on July 2, 1968, to Jerry Blue Coat and Thelma Janis. He attended school in Eagle Butte and Brainerd Indian School in Hot Springs. He went to work in Minneapolis, MN, later moving to Denver, where he resided with his brother, Richard (“Rick”), until the time of his passing.
Dale is survived by one brother, “Rick” Blue Coat of Denver; two sisters, Joyce Young Bird and family of Eagle Butte and Mary Ann of Garretson; and an aunt, Marge Clown of Eagle Butte.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Blue Coat and Thelma Janis; two sisters, Charlotte and Rita; two brothers, Arnold and Vincent Boyd; and a niece, Rita Memoree LeBeau.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
