Ivan Lind

Ivan D. Lind, 84, of Timber Lake passed away on January 22, 2022 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Ivan was born on June 21, 1937 to Andrew and Irene (Traversie) Lind in Timber Lake. He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Flandreau. He attended college in Huron, where he obtained a degree in business.

Ivan joined the Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He married the love of his life, Georgiann C. Hanley, on September 7, 1966 in Pierre. They had six children: Crystal, Jason, Britt, Kimberly, Peggy, and Travis.

Ivan moved to Eagle Butte with his wife and children and worked for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe for several years. He and his family then moved to Timber Lake to start a cattle business on his family’s homestead. He was preceded in death by his par

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Irene; son, Jason Lind; grandson, Lucas Lind; and seven siblings: Lawrence “Swede” Lind, Leonard Lind, LaVina Christiansen, John Lind, Loretta Whitney, Edward Lind, Geraldine Petri, and Regina Lind.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Georgiann Lind; children Crystal Lind of Timber Lake, Britt (Tim Holter) White of Rapid City, Kimberly Lind of Timber Lake, Peggy (Ron) Roberts of Rapid City, and Travis (Jessica) Lind of Rapid City; grandchildren, Kade, Tia, Jared, Alex, Jacob, Samuel, Serenity, and Shawnti Lind, and Xander Roberts; great-grandchildren Ayden Lind, Dean Ivan and Jason Hardaway; his siblings, Bernard Lind, Alberta (Tom) Hartwick, and Jenny (Justin) Lawrence; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. MT on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Timber Lake Community Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. MT on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Timber Lake Community Center. Burial will follow at the Timber Lake Cemetery.
