Karen L. Lipp, 81, of Windsor, CO passed away on November 6, 2021 due to COVID-19.

Karen was born on April 22, 1940 in Mobridge and graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1958. On September 25, 1958, she married the love of her life, Wilfred “Fritz” Lipp, and spent the next 8 years working next to him on the family farm. While in South Dakota she gave birth to her two daughters, Kelly and Tracy.

In 1966 the family moved to northern Colorado where she remained for the rest of her life.

Karen worked at various places including So-Fro Fabrics, Fashion Bug, and Larimer County as a switchboard operator. Her favorite job was being a mother and a grandmother. Holidays were her favorite time of the year and she loved decorating her home to match. Karen was an avid reader. She also picked up many other hobbies, including sewing and painting. She especially loved playing all sorts of games and going on silly adventures with her grandkids.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Steve) de Haas of Longmont, CO and Tracy (Sam) Nicolls of Windsor, CO; six grandchildren: Ryan de Haas of Washington DC, Kelci de Haas of Izmir, Turkey, Kyle Nicolls of Custer, Hailey Nicolls of Windsor, CO, Marisa (Doug) Carling of Rapid City, and Jessica Johnson of Fort Collins, CO; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Lipp, and her husband, Fritz Lipp.
