Larry J. Leibel of Post Falls, ID passed away April 10, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Born October 22, 1942 in Mobridge to Anton (Tony) and Frances Leibel, Larry was raised on the Leibel Family Farm in Glencross. He was the oldest of seven children.
He and Pam Stoick were married August 26, 1964 in Timber Lake and celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.
After graduating from Timber Lake High School in 1960, Larry enlisted in the United Sates Army and was stationed with the Third Infantry Division in Germany between 1961 and 1964. He was proud to be a veteran. In 2000 he retired from the Western Teamsters Union.
He was an avid cyclist, biking up to 20 miles a day. He was active in his church, Real Life Ministries, serving as a Life Group leader and volunteering in the Benevolence Ministry Food Room. He was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer earlier this year.
He will be remembered for his commitment to the Lord Jesus and his family. His work ethic and integrity are unmatched. He never passed up a chance to save a penny and if you were on time you were considered late. He was always up for a visit whatever the topic might be.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife and caretaker, Pam; children Barbi Umbinetti (Harry), Debbie Sexton, Becki Raymundo (Lou) and Patrick (Amy); his eight grandchildren, Chris (Tamara), Josh, Trevor (Lana), Jamie (Cathaline) Umbinetti, Kyle Sexton, Makenzie Leibel, Lance and Ava Raymundo; great-grandchildren Anthony, Ashley, CJ and Callie; his siblings Jane Leibel, Robert Leibel (Gladys), Marion Janas (Doug), Anthony (Cathy), Merle Leibel (Renee), and Ron Leibel (JoAnn).
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Patrick Michael, in 2010.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at the English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, ID. Friends are invited to celebrate Larry’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Real Life Ministries, Building 2, 1866 N. Cecil Rd. Post Falls, ID.
Graveside services with Military Honors will at 10:30 a.m. on Monday April 26, 2021, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA.
