Marcel L. Jewett, 74, of Eagle Butte passed away August 7, 2023 at the Cheyenne River Health Care Center at Eagle Butte.
He is survived by three sons: George Jewett of Rapid City, Jayme Jewett of Holcomb, KS, and Marcel “Sonny” Jewett, Jr. of Pierre; one daughter, Traci Jewett of Eagle Butte; a brother, Greg Jewett of Eagle Butte; a sister, Marcelline Lesmeister of Parade; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, eight nieces and five nephews.
A vigil prayer service and a veteran’s roll call honoring was held August 16 at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte with Fr. John Paul Trask officiating. A traditional Lakota funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. MT on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the White Horse Community Center. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery at White Horse with Rooks Funeral Services in Eagle Butte in charge of arrangements.
